James Pierson

I’ve been a church choir singer for over 35 years. My last position was at St. Barnabas church, where I was the cantor for over 15 years. I’ve always believed in the pursuit of beauty in all things, especially in the liturgy and the worship of the Lord. In coming to the choir at St. Cecilia’s at this time in my life, after a trying period, I have found great fulfillment. The great beauty and sensitivity, the caring and love of music is so keenly felt here. The gift of the Jubilee of Mercy has helped me to leave a troubled time in the past, and I look forward at the end of the year to fulfill the ultimate goal by passing through the holy doors at the Basilica of St. Peter’s in Rome with my brothers and sisters of the choir.
