I am an elementary music specialist in Ralston Public Schools. I have served as a section leader with the Cathedral Choir for about three years. Singing at St. Cecilia’s has strengthened my relationship with the church and allowed me the privilege to work alongside fantastic musicians. My favorite memory happened on Ash Wednesday of this year. The choir was in the pews instead of the loft, so I was able to watch Deacon Tardy give ashes, and each and every time, I could see the kindness and mercy in his eyes. I witnessed a special moment when he presented ashes to a baby and took an extra moment to make that baby smile. It brought a tear to my eye, as my son is just under a year as well. That caring, mercy, and compassion are always present at St. Cecilia’s, and I am so thankful to be a part of it.
